Looking for an awesome, historic, authentic Michigan ghost town to visit?
Then this is where you need to head...Fayette in the Upper Peninsula.

The photo gallery below shows the remnants of Fayette in the UP, once a bustling, enterprising & energetic city in the 1800's, known for their pig iron and smelting operations.

The town has no more residents but is now a state park that we can all visit and wander thru the town, with many of the buildings still standing and preserved while some of the missing residences are marked by their stone foundations only.

It's a fascinating place to take yourself or the family; the map above shows you the location.. Read more about Fayette's legacy by CLICKING HERE.

You can enter just about all of the buildings, furnaces and kilns...many original artifacts and antiques from the 1800's are on display to examine.

BEST TIME TO VISIT IS IN SEPTEMBER, AFTER SCHOOL STARTS BACK UP.....THE TOURISTS ARE MINOR AND SOMETIMES YOU CAN WANDER THE STREETS & TOWN BY YOURSELF!

Make this a destination stop during your Michigan roadtrip!
