In my opinion, this isn't the worst thing to happen. Stopping and or slowing the spread of this virus is the most important thing we can do to keep everyone safe, especially when sending children back into schools.

The Michigan High School Athletics Association announced its decision to cancel all fall sports scrimmages this Wednesday.

“The Council believed eliminating scrimmages emphasized the importance of keeping teams from mixing before the first date of competition, and the regular-season limitations may lessen opportunities for viral spread while still allowing meets to be conducted,” a released had announced, according to WILX.

Boys soccer teams, girls volleyball, and football teams are allowed to practice, but cannot participate in any scrimmages.

The MHSAA did announce that this was a fluid situation, and you can expect updated timelines for the three sports by August 20th.
