East Lansing is One of the Safest College Towns

East Lansing recently made the list for safest College Towns in America, but they weren't the only Michigan college town.

According to a new list from Safewise, they made the list from the lastest crime statistics as well as safety programs that the towns have or put on during the year.

East Lansing, the home of Michigan State University, is No. 28. According to SafeWise, the city of nearly 50,000 residents reported just 822 crimes in 2015, with only ninety-four of those involving violent offenses. The East Lansing Police Department also recently expanded its Neighborhood Watch Program.

East Lansing was the #4 Safest College Town in the state behind Houghton (home of the Michigan Tech University), Marquette, and Mount Pleasant. To see the full list you can here
