Does Our State Have The Most Overworked Police Force
The police forces across the US have been in the news a lot this year but according to Safewise some state police forces are overworked. They measured the states that have the least amount of police officers per capita, the most crimes per officer, which would combine to show the states with the busiest policemen and women.
The Top 5 States with the busiest police forces:
- #5 - Arkansas
- #4 - Kentucky
- #3 - Idaho
- #2 - Nevada
- #1 - Michigan - Yes our state has the most overworked police force. Some factors that come in are that in 2014, there were over 630,000 crimes in Michigan, which is about 28 per officer. And since there are 350 civilians for every one police officer, that’s a lot for one officer to cover.
