Demi Lovato isn't taking the easy way out as she continues to recover in rehab — according to Us Weekly, she's seeking "aggressive" and "constructive" treatment and foregoing the stereotypical easy-breezy celebrity rehab experience.

Lovato, who reportedly overdosed in July after relapsing, has been in treatment for about two weeks, and she's taking it very, very seriously, according to an insider.

“The rehab she is in is much more drill sergeant-esque,” the source told the site. “It’s not nurturing. At places like Promises, you live on the beach and go horseback riding. That’s not what Demi needs to put her in check.”

“This is not her first rodeo,” the source added. “She doesn’t want to feel like things are being handed to her. For Demi, this is a strength test.”

That being said, the source isn't terribly surprised that Lovato succumbed to pressure to use again — not because she's weak, but because her degree of her celebrity can be so overwhelming and destructive.

“Having her level of fame can be unbearable,” the source said. “Demi was so strong for so long, but she caved. She set high expectations for herself and it got to be too much. Her decision-making process was severely impaired. But she’s only human.”

Lovato first opened up about her relapse and overdose earlier this month in an Instagram post.

"I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction," she wrote to her followers. "What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet."

"I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery," she added. "The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting."
