If you're into the TikTok salad trend, you might want to double-check your cucumbers before tossing them into your next viral recipe.

The FDA has traced a salmonella outbreak to cucumbers from Bedner Growers, Inc., of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Thomas Produce Company, of Boca Raton, Florida.

While these farms are significant sources of the contamination, they don’t account for all the cases. So, it's not just limited to these two growers. This is a pretty big deal because salmonella isn't something to take lightly.

Now, back to TikTok, where salads are having a major moment. With everyone experimenting with fresh ingredients, it’s easy to see why this outbreak is raising some red flags.

The idea of throwing together a crisp, refreshing salad might seem appealing, but with this recall, it’s important to be extra cautious. Before you chop those cukes, make sure they’re not part of the recall. Better yet, skip the cucumber altogether until the situation is fully under control.

In the meantime, stay safe, and make sure to wash your fruits and veggies before you go and eat them. Maybe avoid them cucumbers for a bit there too!
