You could probably not tell it now, but there was a time when I worked out pretty religiously. No kidding.

Weights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Running and/or swimming on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and a rest day on Sunday. Now I didn't spend all of my time at the gym or on endurance training (I don't even think it was called that then) but I had the time to set about an hour aside six days a week and workout. This of course was a long time ago.

Before you could take a selfie at the gym. We'll you could, but the camera equipment was larger and more unwieldy and you would've probably gotten more than a few stares from people wondering what the heck you were doing.

Today? Well I'm surrounded by family members who workout devoutly. Don't get me wrong, while this isn't for me as much anymore I think it's great that they are disciplined enough to exercise so consistently.

As for me? I'm okay with watching the training sequence from the first "Rocky" movie every once in awhile and I'm good for a month or so...

I've heard a lot of people talk about one of the things that they really miss being open due to the COVID-19 pandemic is the gym. As you are probably aware, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer says gyms stay closed. There's been disagreements and rulings on whether gyms can open or have to close but in the meantime, the rule is for now stay closed. According to News 10 a couple of local gyms decided to open their doors today anyway to a less than positive response from local law enforcement.

Crunch Fitness on East Grand River opened this morning, as did Powerhouse Gym on Hagadorn Road. Township police showed up at both gyms. Powerhouse decided to close at 5 p.m. today. Crunch Fitness said they are staying open and they got a ticket. Crunch also says they will stay open until Midnight tonight and then open again tomorrow. Citation or not.

Get more info here from News 10. I'm pretty sure that this will be a developing story.
