Crop Disaster Declared In Clinton, Shiawassee and 13 Other Counties
This week, the United States Department of Agriculture declared crop disaster designations for all 15 counties in Michigan’s Fourth Congressional District. The USDA determined there were sufficient production losses during 2016.
In addition to Clinton and Shiawassee, Michigan’s Fourth Congressional District is made up of the following counties: Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Mecosta, Midland, Missaukee, Montcalm, Ogemaw, Osceola, Roscommon, Saginaw and Wexford.
Farm operators in these counties are eligible to be considered for certain assistance from the Farm Service Agency, including emergency loans. Farm operators have eight months from the date of the disaster designation to apply for assistance. More information is available at local Farm Service Agency offices.
