You read that right! The college student who created the event itself, Matty Roberts, changed his mind about actually storming Area 51. Roberts claims he is worried about a lack of funding and organization of the event.

The original intent behind this crazy idea? Well, you probably already know the answer to that. Are there aliens in Area 51...

Originally, the now very viral event started as a joke, but at this point, it is up in the air whether this is actually a joke anymore or not. The alleged raid is supposed to take place on September 20th.

Before the page had been taken down on Facebook, with nearly two million participants in the group, Roberts said, "We will all meet up in Rural Nevada and coordinate our parties. If we Naruto run, we can move faster than their bullets. Lets see them aliens."

Just because Roberts backed out, however, doesn’t mean the event seems to be done and over with. Connie West seems to have reinstated the event, saying she will “charge forward” to find out what Area 51 is actually hiding. West actually owns a motel not too far from Area 51 and has even said there will be bands and comedians to those who actually RSVP’d for the event.

The United States Air Force has issued many warnings to those who are actually thinking about joining the raid, saying they will be subjected to fines, face arrest, and possibly worse.
