If you have bought, or maybe borrowed, any Crayola-branded magnetic building cubes recently, it may be time to check on those. There is a new recall that applies nationwide, which means Michigan is included.

What Are Crayola Pip-Cubes

The recall concerns sets called CreateOn "pip-Cubes." They are magnetic cubes that come in two versions: "Bold Colors" (red, green, blue, yellow) and "Glitter" (purple, pink, blue, green). They were sold in sets of 24 or 27.

The problem that initiated this recall was the magnets that are inside the cubes, which can come loose if the seams separate. If a kid swallows one (or more) of those magnets, the magnets can attract to each other inside the body and cause gut blockages, perforations, or other serious injuries, including death.

Why The Magnets Are Dangerous

These pip-Cube sets were sold between May and July 2025 at national retailers like Michaels (in-store and online) and online via Amazon.

If you have bought one, or know someone who has here in the state of Michigan, it may not matter which state it was reported in; the recall still applies.

Where They Were Sold

You should go check the cubes and look for the Crayola name on the side and the set details. If you do have the affected product, you should stop using them immediately and keep them away from your children.

You can also go to the CreateOn recall page or call their customer line to request a prepaid return and replacement for the product.
