Major Salmon Recall in Michigan Costco Stores
On October 22, Acme sent a notice to their Costco members who bought the salmon product, letting them know that a specific lot of smoked salmon might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenes, most commonly known as Listeria, is a type of bacteria that could cause a rare but serious infection known as listeriosis. While it's not one of the most common foodborne illnesses, it can be dangerous younger kids and those with a weakened immune system.
Here’s what to look for:
If you’ve picked up any Kirkland Smoked Salmon at a Michigan Costco recently, check the lot number on the front of the packaging. If it reads 8512801270, that’s the batch involved in the recall. These were only sold from October 9 to October 13, and the impacted items have since been pulled from the shelves.
Luckily, this recall doesn’t affect any other Acme or Kirkland Smoked Salmon products.
If you have any of the recalled salmon on hand, it’s best to dispose of it or return it to your local Costco for a refund. You can also call Acme with any questions at (718) 383-8585.
