New Mexico Piñon Coffee has just issued a nationwide recall of a specific lot of their Dark Piñon single-serve coffee cups, sold in 10-count boxes. The recall comes after the Food and Drug Administration announced a clear-coat seal on the lid wasn't consistently applied during manufacturing.
Due to that failure, the food-safe ink printed on some lids may run during brewing, especially when exposed to high heat and pressure inside Keurig-style machines, which can contaminate your coffee with ink.+
More on the Recall
The recall has been labeled as a Class III recall, which has a low likelihood of causing any serious problems, but the FDA still recommends that you get rid of the product immediately, either by returning it for a full refund or just discarding the pods. No illnesses or injuries have been reported with the product just yet.
If you have any of the boxes, you are urged to stop using the product immediately and return them to your place of purchase. You can also reach out to New Mexico Piñon Coffee at 505-298-1964.
Information on the Product
The recall affects product number F03308, with a UPC of 812361033081 with a lot code of 251749 and a best-by date of May 8, 2026.
It's best to put down the coffee addiction and go get some more. Return the product and go try a new set of pods.
