Cody Simpson Responds to Miley Cyrus’ Controversial Statement About Being Gay
Cody Simpson defended his girlfriend, Miley Cyrus, while being interviewed on the Australian show, The Project, on Tuesday (October 22).
The television hosts brought up the subject of the Instagram live stream in which Cyrus made controversial comments about being gay to avoid dating "evil" men.
"People took that the wrong way I think," the "Golden Thing" singer told the hosts. "You don’t choose who you fall for, you don’t choose who you love, whatever gender, whoever you are. No, she’s wonderful."
Cyrus told fans in the Instagram live stream that there were good men out there, despite her original thoughts. "You don't have to be gay, there are good people with d--ks out there, you've just got to find them. You've got to find a d--k that's not a d--k, you know?"
"I always thought I had to be gay," she continued, "because I thought all guys were evil, but it's not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have d--ks. I've only ever met one, and he's on this live [stream]."
Cyrus later clarified that she was speaking about less-than-stellar ex-boyfriends and that people do not choose their sexuality.
