24,000 Pounds of Chicken Sausage Recalled for Plastic Contamination in Michigan
Those Tiffany plates you're making right now... yeah, you may want to put the halt on those, because there is a major recall hitting chicken sausage sold at stores here in the state of Michigan. Check your fridge and freezer; it may be time to look around.
Information on the Recall
Kayem Foods Inc. just announced a recall on over 24,000 pounds of the ready-to-eat chicken sausage, after reports of white plastic pieces have been found inside. No injuries have been reported from the product, but you should still use caution before thinking about consuming the product, as it could cause serious issues.
The Product Being Recalled
The 11-ounce, four-link package of "All Natural AI Fresco Chicken Sausage Sweet Apple with Vermont Made Syrup" is being recalled after being produced on June 28, 2025, with a best by/freeze-by date of October 1, 2025.
You can also look for a lot code of "179" and the USDA mark of inspection with an establishment number of "P-7839". If you see any of that information, you may have the affected product.
What You Should Do If You Have The Product
The product was distributed to stores across the country, so whether you're based here in Michigan or Ohio, you could've picked up some of the recalled sausage. If you do have them, you're being urged to toss them immediately, as they can pose a risk to you and your health.
You can also return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
