One hundred years ago, the Michigan State Park Commission set the course for visitors to enjoy and explore four seasons of fun. May 12, 2019 officially marked the anniversary of state parks, and the DNR has a yearlong centennial celebration planned. Join in and celebrate our rich history and take an energizing look forward as we mark this milestone year with special events, podcasts, historical stories, videos, geocaching and more. We had a chance to speak with Ron Olson, Chief, Parks and Recreation Division (OlsonR@michigan.gov) about the centennial celebration.

If you would like to know more, where to go, and what to do (we highly suggest you get out there and explore ALL that Michigan has to offer), the DNR has created a great resource within their website which you can find HERE.
