Can you really say you're from Lansing if you haven't heard of Big Penny, the truck munching bridge? I'd love to say if you haven't hit Big Penny, but I am not sure that it is that easy to hit her... yet people keep doing it.

Let me explain though. Big Penny, actually has many warning systems in place even before you get close to the bridge, especially if your truck, trailer, or whatever you might have may be too big to fit under the bridge.

POV: What It Looks Like When You Crash Into Big Penny

It might sound crazy to hit something that is warning you, but the 88 trucks that have hit Big Penny since 2004, may speak differently. I don't think we've ever seen an inside point of view though when someone crashes into Big Penny.

We finally do have that footage though, and we thought it was worth sharing.

The impact on the driver, was pretty astounding, but there are a couple key points to point out here. There are flashing lights on top of the bridge, they're yellow warning lights, basically warning oncoming drivers of the upcoming bridge. They ONLY activate if you're about to smash into the bridge.

The truck did sustain physical damage to it, about $28,000 worth of damage.

You know, for when you want to have a built-in sunroof, or open your truck like a can of sardines.

The internet is definitely having fun with this one too in an online Reddit thread.

People are also pointing out the obvious as well...
