Quick question: What are you going to do when the bad boys come for you?

Answer carefully, because the original bad boys, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, are returning for the first time in 17 years. Next winter, Smith and Lawrence star in Bad Boys For Life, the third film in the iconic ’90s and early 2000s action series. Director Michael Bay has been replaced by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, directors of the Belgian crime movie Black. The action quotient still appears suitably ridiculous, though, with the pair of Miami cops blasting through the streets on a motorcycle and sidecar, and zooming through a mall in a muscle car. There is also a lot of shooting of bad guys as well. (Bad guys, mind you. The Bad boys are the good guys. These things are very nuanced and complicated.)

Here’s the first trailer for Bad Boys For Life:

Here’s the movie’s official synopsis, which definitively states (at least for now) that this will be the final Bad Boys movie:

The Bad Boys Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are back together for one last ride in the highly anticipated Bad Boys for Life. Ride together. Die together. #BadBoysForLife

Personally, I’m just a huge fan of any movie starring two middle-aged men who refer to themselves as boys. Bad Boys For Life opens in theaters on January 17, 2020. Wait, January? Summer movie season starts earlier and earlier every year...
