Amazon, one of the largest if not the largest retail company in the country, is ready to build a fulfillment center on the site of a famous Michigan landmark. According to WILX, the Pontiac Silverdome, which used to house the Detroit Lions and Detroit Pistons, may soon be a new home for Amazon.

Amazon plans on building a fulfillment center on the site where the famous building once stood. Amazon unveiled those plans this past week during a meeting in Pontiac. The $250 million plan for the site is to be used as a warehouse, distribution, and fulfillment campus as well as bring 1,500 full time jobs and part time jobs to the area. The Amazon plan isn't going to happen just yet as it needs to be voted through by the city council. If it is voted through, then building would start in 2020 with the fulfillment site opening sometime in 2021.
