It is officially Fall! It has taken a while to get here but now we can finally enjoy fall in Michigan. The weather is still nice so there is plenty of time to get the entire Michigan fall experience. If you are wondering what that is I’ll help you with the 10 things to love about fall in Michigan.

1. Checking out the Amazing Fall Colors. Might I suggest the Tunnel of Trees in Northern Michigan, check it out here. If you don’t want to take that long trip you can just drive or walk around the Lansing area to see all of the colors.

2. Go apple or pumpkin picking. Uncle John’s is open as are a few other places in our area to grab some apples, apple cider, and pumpkins for the rest of the season. See where some of the closest pumpkin patches are here.

3. Big Ten Football is back! You will still have to wait until late October but Michigan State, Michigan, and all of the other Big Ten teams are back. More about their restart here.

4. Corn Mazes are back. There are usually a handful of corn mazes open in our area such as: Uncle John’s and this farm near Saginaw which is formed in the words  “COVID Go Away”, you can see that here.

5. Frankenmuth is so much more fun in the Fall. Oktoberfest in Frankenmuth is really the best thing to do but it is cancelled this year. You can still get some great food from Zehnder’s and Bavarian Inn as they are doing take out.

7. Wine Tours. There are so many wineries in Northern Michigan especially around Traverse City and you can try all of the great Michigan wines.

9. Fall hikes are better. Even more chances to enjoy the cool temperatures as well as the fall colors. There are so many paths in the Lansing area to check out and also here are the best scenic trails in Michigan.

10. Fishing gets better in the Fall. The rivers start to slow down and if you get up early enough you can catch some salmon, steelhead, or trout from the Grand River or the dozens of other rivers in the state.
