Restoration on the dome of Michigan's Capitol Building has been going on for quite some time now. Restoration is finally nearing it's end and we should be able to see the old gal returned to her former glory this November. But what's going to happen to some of those dome pieces that are being replaced, hmmm? Well... how would you like to OWN one?According to the Lansing State Journal, that's exactly what's going to happen.

The Michigan State Capitol Commission decided Tuesday to make pieces of the old Capitol dome available for purchase. And get this... the pieces the commission is making available are all from the original 19th century construction! There are 100 ornamental pieces, or modillions, up for grabs; 50 will be available for $100 in a lottery, and the other 50 will be put up for auction with a minimum bid of $100. And all funds raised will go towards the commission’s general fund for Capitol maintenance.

How cool would it be to own a piece of state history, especially because it's so old? Are you hoping to win this lottery, or is $100 a little too pricey? Even if it's for a piece of the Capitol...
