Get your shovel ready! We got some snow earlier in the week but this weekend is going to bring more and officially kick off the snow for this season.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, during the morning and early afternoon on Saturday we should see a few flurries but shouldn't measure to anything. But a storm will come to Lansing area sometime early Sunday morning and hang around till the early hours of Monday.

About 4-6 inches of snow could cover the southern half of lower Michigan. The heaviest snow is going to fall late Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon, with also heavy wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour. Next week, should be a little calmer with snow but it will also be very cold with high temperatures being in the teens and lows in the single digits.
