Uncle Jesse aka John Stamos and Becky aka Lori Loughlin exhibited amazing and believable chemistry during their wildly popular tenure as a beloved sitcom couple on 'Full House.' Their onscreen romance was so believable that it left many fans wondering why things never spilled over into real life for these two.

Given all the recent nostalgia for the show – including the Super Bowl Oikos greek yogurt spot and Jimmy Fallon appearance—Loughlin, now 49, opened up about why she and Stamos never engaged in a real-life hookup.

It was simply a matter of the stars not aligning for the pair.

"I was married at the time I was doing the show to my first husband," Loughlin, who wed Michael Burns in 1989, two years into the series run, told Yahoo. "Literally when I was getting divorced, he met Rebecca [Romijn]."

Loughlin and Burns split in 1996, while Stamos was married to Romiijn for seven years before breaking up.

From the sounds of Loughlin's comments, there was some sort of underlying interest between her and her TV hubby and if they weren't otherwise involved, they may very well have attempted a relationship.

She eventually wed designer Mossimo Giannulli, who has had a line at Target for years. They have been together for 17 years. However, Loughlin and Stamos remain close.

In fact, in 2013, the actor even labeled his former onscreen wife as "the one who got away," further suggesting and hinting that they were attracted to and interested in one another. Loughlin said it was "nice of him to say that" and instantly replied "John" when asked who the hottest member of the 'Full House' gang is!

Oh, what could have been!
