Michigan State students are going to not be happy about this one, but according to The State News, beginning August 30th (this next semester), Michigan State University will no longer allow mopeds to park at bike racks. Moped drivers will now have to pay $50 for a parking permit (which lasts a year). Also mopeds can only be parked “in designated lots on campus.”

The All University Traffic and Transportation Committee (AUTTC) want this change to moped parking, citing "space for bikers" and safety. Students who do bike or pay for parking aren't a fan of it as over 5,000 people have signed the petition to stop the change.

If you are one the students currently or in the future will be affected by this change, click here to read more on the change and to check out a map of where your designated parking lots will be for now on.
