On the subject of the Avril video, I went to Facebook to ask for help after I watched the new Avril Lavigne video last night and couldn't detect any racially-offensive over or undertones.

Full disclosure: I am a huge Avril fan from way back, so, I thought maybe I was "blinded," but a lot of people -- even people who hate the song/video -- agreed that it wasn't racist.

Avril's biggest market is Asia, by the way.  She is looooooved over there.  So, maybe some people just don't get it because they aren't fully-informed.
