Bright Leonid Fireball

Let's just hope for clear skies, unlike we had last week when Mars was bright, so we can check out this amazing summertime light show.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Perseids, which is a meteor shower, will be at its peak on August 12th & 13th. So if you missed any other meteor showers this year you will want to see this one. As Space.com says that we should see about 70 meteors per hour. Plus, the moon won't obstruct the view of the shower at all because it will be a new moon.

According to Astronomy.com, if you want to find the best view, make sure you look for the showers' name sake constellation; Perseus, which is just south of Cassiopeia. Also they say the best day to view it would be on August 13th over the 12th, but you should still be able to get a good look on both days, as long as the weather is good. You can learn more about where to look in the sky for the Perseids, here.
