At the 2019 State of the City Address, Lansing's mayor Andy Schor unveiled a new look and logo for Michigan's capital city.

The logo includes the letter L and incorporates the 3 smokestacks in the heart of the city that dominates the skyline as much as the state capitol.

Reaction from city residents has been generally positive applauding the modernist and minimalist design. There was one tongue-in-cheek concern raised on the city's Facebook page, however:

Did the city get permission from Tetris to use its blocks? I don’t want the city attorney being burdened with this.

The smokestacks that are prominent in the logo can be found

at the former Lansing Board of Water & Light power station, affectionately known locally as Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.

This drone footage gives a great look at them:

New Logo for East Lansing?

Not to be outdone, perhaps East Lansing should follow Lansing's example and create a new logo as well. May we humbly suggest the following?
