I had a bad experience when I was around 12 or 13 that completely turned me off from skate boarding... I attempted to ride my brother's skateboard without anyone's help (mistake, I know)  and that ended with the skateboard shooting out from under me, me landing with my wrists bent weird, and then having my dad rush me to the emergency room. It was a miracle that I didn't have two broken wrists, but they just ended up getting sprained. I did however, wind up with a healthy fear of falling that kept me from ever stepping foot on a skateboard again. That is, until I saw this video of these bada** ladies learning to skateboard!

The three girls in the video each have a different reason for wanting to learn to skateboard: overcoming the fear of falling, being able to skate fearlessly, and clinging to one's youth. I'm definitely in the "fear of falling" category, which is why I haven't stepped on a skateboard since my youthful incident. But these three ladies have inspired me to give skating another chance. I recently gifted my boyfriend Matthew with a long board, and he has so graciously agreed to teach me how to skate, allowing me to cross "Learn How To Skate", off my bucket list. So make sure you check back every once in a while to keep up with how my progress is doing! Until then, check out these three ladies learning how to skateboard for 30 days!
