If you've read any of my past posts, I'm sure you've come across at least one that talks about beer. Hey, what can I say? I like beer... I am kind of picky though! But that's why I LOVE the Michigan Summer Beer Festival; you get the opportunity to try so many different kinds of brews, and all in one place to boot! If you love beer too, but have never gone, allow me to paint you a word picture...

Beautiful Ypsilanti Riverside Park in historic Depot Town is where you will find this beer heaven. Walking through the park, you take in the abundance of choices available to you. With over 100 Michigan breweries on site and more than 1,000 craft beers to choose from, it may seem a bit daunting to choose only 15 samples (that's how many sample tokens that come with your ticket, generally 1 sample = 1 token). But do not fret, brewers are on scene to help you decide which options to sample.  And believe me, they LOVE talking beer, so ask them as many questions as you like.

Beer isn't the only thing available to your taste buds this weekend!  There will be plenty of food options to keep any "hanger" issues at bay. In years past, I've enjoyed anything from brats to pork tacos to giant turkey legs. And for dessert, you ask? How about some beer ice cream !?! I tried it for the first time last year, it was surprisingly refreshing. All-in-all, your taste buds will be taken on a delicious journey if you're headed to the beer fest this weekend, all while enjoying plenty of live music as well!

Tickets for this event are on sale now, all you have to do is click HERE. You can buy tickets at the gate, but only if they aren't sold out. Also, if this will be your first time at the beer fest, allow me to make a suggestion... Make yourself a pretzel necklace. It's exactly what it sounds like; it's a long piece of string that you've added many pretzels onto and then tied around your neck in a necklace fashion. Some people get pretty crazy with them, like adding beef jerky and string cheese. Go big or go home! What does this pretzel necklace do exactly? It helps to cleanse your palette between beers, AND, it's just a great snack to munch on while you're drinking. The weather looks great on Friday, but there is a 40% chance of rain on Saturday, so dress accordingly, this event goes down rain or shine. Be safe, and have fun! Oh, and have a beer for me too!
