Stuart Dunnings III is resigning as a prosecutor effective July 2, according to a letter sent to Ingham County. The letter which you read here, courtesy of the Lansing State Journal, states that he will take a medical leave till July 1st and resign the next day.

Dunnings faces 15 charges for his alleged privileges to prostitutes across three counties. He faces 10 counts of engaging in prostitution, four counts of willful neglect of duty and one count of pandering prostitution. This is a hefty bunch of crimes punishable up to 26 years if he is found guilty of all crimes. He is 63 years old so if found guilty will be in prison up to the age of 90.

Dunnings, a Democrat, has served as the Ingham County's prosecutor since 1997 and last won re-election with over 70% of the vote.
