If you love musicals, comedy, dancing, and YOU HATE SHAKESPEARE, then have we got the show for you! It's "Something Rotten!" at the Wharton Center March 13th - 18th!

BTW, that whole "Hate Shakespeare" thing is part of the show...there's a whole musical number on it and that is why I know I have got see this!

I have been trying to go see more theater and musicals and get some more culture in my life! Thanks to Bob Hoffman and the wonderful staff at the Wharton Center, I am truly enjoying expanding my scope in entertainment. So far, I've had a chance to see "The Bodyguard" and "On Your Feet: The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan". I have even had a chance to interview cast members from both shows and even "Waitress".

This next show is right up my alley and I can't wait to check it out. It's the smash Broadway comedy musical " Something Rotten!". They say it's "Spamalot" meets "The Producers" meets "The Book of Mormon" all rolled into one!

From the director of Aladdin and co-director of The Book of Mormon and the producer of Rent, Avenue Q and In the Heights, this hilarious new musical comedy tells the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, two playwrights stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rockstar, Will Shakespeare. When a soothsayer foretells the next big thing in theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, the Bottom brothers set out to write the world's very first MUSICAL! With the most singing, the most dancing and the most gut-busting laughs on Broadway, it's something wonderful...something for everyone... it's SOMETHING ROTTEN!, "Broadway’s funniest, splashiest, slap-happiest musical comedy in at least 400 years" (Time Out New York).

With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is an uproarious dose of pure Broadway fun and an irresistible ode to musicals — those dazzling creations that entertain us, inspire us, and remind us that everything’s better with an exclamation point!
