Social Media Reacts to 2016 Grammy Awards

Like always, especially with the Grammys, people are going to have their opinions. The coveted awards show evokes the most chatter in the music world year after year, sometimes in praise and other times in disappointment. This year, however, hip-hop was inevitably on a high. Not only did rap legend LL Cool J host for the fourth year in a row, but Kendrick Lamar became the rapper with the most nominations in one night and took home five awards.

While many stars were missing from the show, with no shows from Jay Z, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj and for the most part Beyonce; one would think the show would have been lackluster. However, Kendrick Lamar's conscious performance made up for any let downs fans may have had and the rapper's set also made history as one of the most talked about performances ever done by a rap artist at the Grammys.
