Report: Central Michigan Student Shot And Killed His Parents In Dorm Room

A Central Michigan University student has reportedly shot and killed his parents in his dorm room Friday morning, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The suspect has been identified as James Eric Davis Jr., 19, a sophomore at CMU. Davis is listed as 5-10 and 135 pounds. His parents were reportedly picking him up as today is the last day of classes before Central Michigan's spring break.

As of this writing Davis is still at large and considered armed and dangerous. Police have been tracking Davis since the incident was first reported. He was seen on security cameras leaving the dorms and heading north along some railroad tracks that were nearby.

Police had contact with Davis the night before the shooting when he was admitted to a local hospital reportedly for a drug-related issue. Davis was released from the hospital shortly before the shooting occurred on Friday. The Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun reports that he was released from the hospital around 8 A.M.

The entire CMU campus, and most of the Mount Pleasant area, (including several area schools) are still in lockdown as of this writing. Authorities at the local, state and federal agencies continue to seek out Davis.
