President Obama is getting some guff after a video was posted online of him exiting the Presidential helicopter, Marine One, with a latte in his hand and saluting two marines -- kind of -- with his drink.

My sister-in-law shared this article with me that explains that it's actually against traditional protocol for the President to salute members of the military. Presidents saluting and shaking hands is a modern concept, the article says. I've never heard this, but even if that's true, as a matter of respect for fellow man, it doesn't make me feel any better about the President's weak gesture.

It's like a limp hand shake. *shudders*

So basically, just like my dad always said... do it right or don't do it at all.
