It started as a simple social media post and recipe on twitter from the New York Times. Does one really need a recipe for a peanut butter and pickle sandwich?

And now it's spiraled into a debate that's really got people split on the issue?!? Not only if it's gross or not, but which type of pickle really pairs well with peanut butter. Dills? Kosher dill? Bread and butter? Some have even stated that the sourness of the pickles offsets the peanut butter perfectly. What?

Peanut Butter and Pickle Sandwich Recipe

This sandwich does not necessarily need a recipe, given its simplicity But it's an unlikely pairing, is peanut butter and pickle, and sometimes that is what a recipe is for -- to prod you in a direction that you never considered Dwight Garner, a book critic for The Times, makes a strong case for this, his favorite sandwich, calling it "a thrifty and unacknowledged American classic."

And while this might seem like something completely off the charts and reserved as a delicacy/craving for pregnant women, folks are claiming this is a family staple from back in the day!

So the real and final question is, would you? Do you? And if so, what type of pickles do you use?
