Parking In East Lansing Just Became More of a Pain
Parking in East Lansing after 6pm is no longer free.
WLNS-TV says the amended ordinance went into effect on July 1st and the city hopes to generate another $75,000 in revenue.
But if you want to save a few bucks and a ton of hassle and aren't afraid to walk a block or two, hit me up and I'll tell you where I park when I have to be in downtown East Lansing.
It's true -- I almost never drive myself into East Lansing anymore... I carpool. I wish I could say I was being environmentally conscious but it's just about avoiding the parking hassle. It's not even about the money.
I don't know why parking in downtown Lansing isn't nearly as problematic. But it's just not. I'm happy to drive, and park, in Lansing.
Moral of the story, I suppose... stop using your credit or debit card all the time because you're going to need change for the meters.
Point of note: East Lansing does have some lots that allow you to use your card to pay, which is fantastic, but are not available everywhere.
