Once-In-A-Lifetime Summer Solstice Strawberry Moon Tonight, Strawberries Today
The Strawberry Moon coinciding with the summer solstice is basically a once-in-a-lifetime event, according to the UK's Independent. Only once every 70 years does this magical event happen.
What is a Strawberry Moon?
It's the June full moon -- just like any other full moon, but, named by early Native Americans to mark the beginning of strawberry season.
Jaymie Diederich, whose family owns Diederich's Berry & Produce Farm in Webberville, says Earliglows are being picked now. They're smaller berries but, in her opinion, are the best tasting.
The farm offers U-Pick at $1.75 per pound. LIKE 'em on Facebook!
