You voted. And according to your votes, recreational marijuana in Michigan has been approved/legalized. There are still steps to be taken before you spark up when and wherever you see fit. And if you break the law before the rules have been straightened out, you could be facing some fines or jail time so please be patient. You're almost there. In the meantime, cities are bracing for changes. Some of them involve local pot shops. The city of Jackson won't be moving forward on ordinances about those anytime soon.

Jackson City Council members couldn't come to an agreement. The votes on two separate ordinances were tied 3-3. And the mayor wasn't there to break the tie. So as it stands right now, no medical nor recreational marijuana businesses can operate in the city of Jackson.

Since both ordinances failed, they will not move forward for a second vote.

As of Tuesday night, the city says no plans were made to bring up the issues for a vote at a later meeting. (WILX)
