Michigan State Police will no longer employ police women.  Well, by title, that is.  The term 'policewoman' has officially been dropped by MSP in favor of the term 'trooper,' which will be applied to both men and women, Mlive reports.

The term 'policewoman' hasn't actually been used by MSP since the mid-1970s, but a new law removing the terminology makes the change official.
