For a while now Nicki Minaj has been weighing her petite hands down with some pretty large rocks. Last year she showed images of an iced out heart-shaped diamond ring, a gift from Meek Mill. More recently in December 2015, after she shared an image of another blinged-out birthday gift from her man, the rumors began to swirl yet again. But Nicki is once again shutting down the idea.

In a new interview for the April 2016 cover of Nylon Magazine, Nicki opened up about her rumored engagement to Milly. “I am not engaged yet,” Nicki told Nylon. But yet, it doesn’t mean she and Meek do not see it in the future. According to Nicki, Meek has already spoke to her about marriage. “He said that my third ring would be my engagement ring.” Even though the third time will be a charm for Omeeka, Nicki said sometimes Meek gets ahead of himself and calls her his fiancée now. “Sometimes he calls me his fiancée, and I’m always trying to stop him, like, ‘Nope! I ain’t got that third ring yet!’

When the third ring does come, Nicki plans on having little Barbs of her own. “And, you know, if that happens, if I get married, then I’ll have a child, and that’ll be fun, because I can’t wait to hold my baby,” she said. The first lady of Young Money has spoken about her desires to be a mom in the past. Before they begin dating Meek even picked up her maternal instincts. But what attracted him to Nicki was the fact that she reminded him of his mother. “When he and I were just friends, he would always say, ‘You remind me of my mother, and I like that because you’re like a dude. You’re tough like a guy and you talk like a dude,’ So I always got the sense that me being tough and bossy was a turn-on for him.”

Over the course of their almost two year courtship, Nicki and Meek have faced a lot of challenges from his public dispute with her label mate Drake to Meek's recent probation stint, which is forcing him to remain in Philly on house arrest for the next six months. But despite the challenges the couple makes it work. “Being in a relationship shouldn’t mean that you lose your voice," says Nicki. "Being in a relationship should mean that you’ve met a secure-enough man to allow you, in a sense, to remain a queen.”
