A new report according to WLNS, is that most roads throughout Michigan are in bad condition. I think that was the first thing I realized when I moved to Michigan about 6 months ago.

Earlier this week Michigan Transportation Asset Management Council released their annual report on bridges and roads in MI. The report shows that 16% of the roads are in good condition, 45% are fair and 39% are considered poor. The report which covered over 50,000 miles of roads also examined state bridges and rules that 11% of them are also "Structurally Deficient"

In November, Michigan lawmakers approved a $1.2 billion roads plan to try and fix the terrible roads. The plan will be paid by a gas tax and vehicle registration increases which will start in January 2017.
