The Michigan Attorney General issued a warning that a new scam is out there that could affect Michigan business.

According to WILX, the Michigan AG has said there is a potential sales tax license application scam where a company is charging for services that the State of Michigan offers for free. There is an online company called "Sales Tax Application Organization" they are claiming business owners can apply for a license on their site that will allow them to collect sales tax online. The company is making money through charging a fee for this "service". The only thing is that this same process for businesses can be done for free, through Michigan.

The Michigan Attorney General has teamed with the Consumer Protection Tean and haven't seen this scam affect a Michigan business yet, but they are warning so it won't happen.
