New Hospital Coming to Town?

WILX-TV's Ann Emmerich got word that a partnership between MSU and McLaren could mean a new hospital being built on the campus of Michigan State University, and WILX says MSU President, Lou Anna K Simon, isn't exactly denying it.

"MSU has strong relationships with both of its hospital partners in mid-Michigan, McLaren and Sparrow, and we are in constant conversations with both of them to make those relationships better and improve the health care of our community.  It would be inappropriate to comment on the specifics or potential outcomes of our ongoing discussions with any one partner," a statement from the university reads, referencing its relationship with both McLaren and Sparrow.

Meanwhile, Virg Bernero says while he thinks McLaren is "expanding," the hospital will not leaving south Lansing in favor of a new facility in East Lansing.
