Movie Review Of The Week

This week's movie is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles starring Megan Fox and Will Arnett.

To start things off, let's go back in time...if you haven't seen the original live action movies from the early 90's...GOOD! Because then TMNT franchise won't be ruined for you by watching this movie.

With that being said, here we go!

I thought this movie lacked a lot of depth, especially with the characters. I didn't understand what they're motivations were, so I didn't care what they did within the movie. I didn't even know the bad guys motivation! GAH!  The Turtles themselves were the only exception; each Turtle oozed personality and each Turtle was different from the next (My favorite being Michaelangelo!).

I also didn't like how quickly the the movie reached it's climax. It was almost as if the movie went immediately from the opening credits to the high point. AND throughout the copious amounts of high energy action, Megan Fox's hair, makeup, clothing, or physical being was harmed. There wasn't a single hair out of place or a scratch to be found anywhere...even when she was involved in an explosion, abduction, or falling from an extreme height.

And lastly...

I believe they chose the absolute WORST PERSON to play one of the bad guys because...well...HE PLAYS A BAD GUY IN LIKE EVERY SINGLE MOVIE HE'S IN! They chose THIS GUY -->

He shows up about 5 minutes into the movie, and being an average movie-goer who isn't familiar with the comic books, I guessed that he was a bad guy instantly. Mostly because he plays a bad guy in this movie, this movie, and this movie.
