We have road work in Jackson this week and next and now in Lansing there is more road work. Areas of Washington Square will be closed throughout the month as the Lansing Board of Water & Light replaces lead service lines to properties.  The project started on May 9 and is scheduled to end on May 27.

This week, Washington Square is closed between Allegan and Washtenaw streets.  Next week, the stretch between Washtenaw and Lenawee Streets will be closed.

Since 2004, 14,000 lines have been replaced at a cost of $42 million, hundreds have been replaced and by 2017 all line should be replaced. The Lansing State Journal has all the details
