Michigan Repeals Swearing Law Just As New Research Shows People That Swear Are Smarter

Sure, you can go ahead and swear in front of women and children in Michigan now and not have to worry about the repercussions.  Well, the legal repercussions, that is.  Today, it's a perfectly legal practice in the Great Lake State, after lawmakers dumped this and other outdated laws, according to WOOD TV.

This is good (?) news, since new research suggests that people that swear are actually more intelligent than those of us that, you know, show a little respect.  This exceptionally scientific study involved 43 college students naming as many "swears" that they could in a minute.  Then, they had to name as many animals that they could in a minute, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Yeah, that escalated quickly.
