Former Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis sent an email to athletic department officials calling several claims made by ESPN in a recent Outside the Lines report into question.

According to MLive's Kyle Austin, Hollis would not respond for comment.

Hollis stepped down from his long-held position on Jan. 26 in the wake of the Larry Nassar scandal.

"I can say with certainty that there were inaccurate, incomplete and misleading statements made and then reported by ESPN," Hollis claims in his email.

ESPN's report alleged athletes had received special treatment when it came down to how sexual misconduct complaints were handled.

The email, sent out as a thank you to the department, marks Hollis's first comments since his resignation.

Head football coach Mark Dantonio also vehemently denied claims he mismanaged sexual assault cases within the football program.

Men's basketball coach Tom Izzo has declined to make public comments on the report but has repeatedly made it clear that he would fully cooperate with any investigation.

Currently there are six investigations surrounding the university including an NCAA, Michigan Attorney General's office, and gubernatorial investigation.
