According to the Lansing State Journal, back to back growth years for Lansing's population was announced via the census. The city of Lansing had their population increase by 338 residents and is currently totaled at 114,620. Hey, one of those 338 people is me! What an encouraging sign for the city. Having people move back in to Lansing now makes it the 6th largest city in the state. When you think about it, that's pretty darn good. Especially when you're competing with cities in Southeast Michigan, and of course, Grad Rapids too.

The population is expected to continue to keep growing too. It's on pace to grow by another 400 residents by this time next year. The cost of living is low, the economy is getting better and people are headed back to the capital city. There was also a report released that will have the Greater Lansing area expanding to over half a million residents that include Ingham County, Eaton County and Clinton County in just a few years. What do you think? Can Lansing grow again next year?
