Glazed and Confused Bakery is a brand new eatery in Downtown Lansing that just opened its doors on Wednesday... only to immediatelyclose them within an hour and a half because they were soooo busy! According to the Lansing State Journal, owner Pete Counseller had the doors open again in 90 minutes to serve all the eager new patrons, and was nothing but smiles! And he should be... over 1,000 donuts were sold in that first hour and half.

You're in store for a big surprise too, because Glazed and Confused isn't your typical donut shop. When I was looking through their online menu, I had to make sure that my drooling didn't get all over my laptop. EVERYTHING SOUNDS SO YUMMY! They have a cake donut that sounded particularly delicious called, Morning Glory which is a lemon cake with poppy seed icing; a jalapeno chipotle donut that's sweet and spicy; and a banana foster fritter that I'm very much looking forward to trying. They serve up more than just pastries, too. You can enjoy one of their scratch made sandwiches or salads for lunch.

Counseller says he's excited to provide "baked goods that are produced fresh everyday, without preservatives and high fructose corn syrup." There will also be a good dose of Lansing in every bite; Counseller plans on sourcing as many local ingredients as possible. You can check out all their fresh made offerings on their website. And they are open 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, and closed Sunday.

I am so looking forward to trying what Glazed and Confused has to offer! The only problem I anticipate having is whittling down my decision on what to get first! Have you been to Glazed and Confused Bakery already? What would you recommend? Are you excited to try it, if you haven't yet?
