General Motors’ Lansing Delta Township Assembly Plant will shut down for a month starting this week to prepare for the launch of the new Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse.

The plant closes after second shift on Friday and will phase out production of the GMC Acadia. The plant will resume on June 12th, but third shift will be gone along with hundreds of workers. Some of those workers that get laid off could be brought back in the first quarter of next year when production demand is high again.

The Lansing State Journal has more about it and which cars will be going into production later this year and next.
