Kroger is following the trend of other large stores in getting rid of their dependence on plastic. Their plan to rid stores of plastic will be starting soon and according to WILX-TV, they want to be rid of plastic bags by 2025.

Kroger wants to get rid of plastic bags not only cause its harmful for the enviroment but because they order about 6 billion plastic bags every year! This number of course makes sense when you find out that Kroger is the largest grocery store chain in America with over 2,700 stores in 35 states.

So since they have a lot of plastic to rid themselves of this will take a little bit. The elimination of plastic bags for the Kroger company will begin at it's QFC chain in Seattle, which is expected to completely phase out plastic bags by next year.
